Vladimir was born in the Empire of Caer Magire, a nation in another Realm. In this Empire it is the Vampires that rule, and men that are hunted, are the slaves. Vladimir found himself such a slave. Worshiping Hades, he prayed daily for death or deliverence knowing he could not strike out against his much more powerful master.

Then came the counter-attack by the forces of the Realms into Caer Magire. During the invasion Vladimir attacked his master, calling out to Hades for strength. He was heard and the forces of Rathkeale happened upon the struggle at the right time, killing the Vampire and freeing Vlad. The former slave decided to leave Caer Magire and travel back to the Realms and Rathkeale to live there. He swore allegiance to Overlord Artex and Hades, vowing to become a priest of the god and a loyal follower of the Overlord.
