MavisMavisI helped raise Lady Catherine after the death of her mother, and then became her full guardian after the death of her father. I tried to give her the knowledge and skills needed to survive in these difficult times. At the age of 22, her cousin Artex requested her to come to Rathkeale, to become his chancellor. Thinking my job was done, I disappeared from the goings on in Rathkeale and Videssos. How I regret that I didn't keep up with what was happening in the world.
At Catherine's insistence I attended the Feast of Blackwood 998 with her. She felt that I had been hiding away for far to long after many difficulties that had occurred about the time she had left to become chancellor. At that time I realized that she was right, and there was much that I was missing out on. I have since become more actively involved in the goings on in Rathkeale and Videssos.
I greatly value the many new friendships I have forged in this much changed world. Only I fear that we will need each other much more in the future than any of us realize, or can comprehend at this point in time. This is not the world that we once knew, much has changed and not much of it was for the better. Learn who your true friends are, your life will most definately depend on them. I can only pray that we all will survive what the future holds.
Known as Master Harper, I am really much more a scribe and a person known for her organizational skills, and the creative ideas needed to get by. My true skills lay in the areas of the needle crafts and metal smithing. Yes, a very strange combination, but very rewarding to the creative spirit that refuses to be quiet.
